The Effect of Zeolite (Clinoptilolite) as a Feed Additive and Filter Material for Freshwater Aquariums

Ammonia, which occurs as a natural result of aquaculture in production facilities, has negative effect on the quality water and aquatic organisms. In this study, it was aimed to determine zeolite fish feed water, ability adsorb ammonium, ammonia removal. 12 different experimental groups were organized by creating 0, 2, 10% ratios for (G1-G3), that only (G4, G5), combinations (zeolite and/or water/in feed) 7, 20 g/L amounts (G6-G12). When NH3 TAN data G1-G3 examined, determined although there no statistical difference, decreased proportionally with increase amount feed. The difference between temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, values G4 G5 found be insignificant. (G6-G12) statistically different. As result, addition into 37%, 45%. results are evaluated from another point view, considering economy ease use, is concluded 2% 7 can recommended species high tolerance values.
